FAQs

1. What can I expect?
Tasmaniology is a high quality, soft cover journal filled with 152 pages of original Tasmanian stories, poems and spectacular visual essays. It’s a delight to read and is filled with breathtaking imagery. Tasmaniology makes the perfect gift for anyone intrigued by our island at the bottom of the world, or a limited edition keepsake for your coffee table. Think of it like an artwork.

2. Volume 1?
Following the success of volume 1, we are now working on volume 2. Expect the launch in November 2024.

3.Limited edition – are there really only 1000 available?
Yes. Like all good things Tasmanian, Tasmaniology is all about quality. We have deliberately opted for a limited print run of only 1000 journals for the first volume. Each copy has been carefully hand numbered so you can be sure you’re getting something special. Grab one while you can.

4. 100% Tasmanian?
Yes! The author and photographer are both Tasmanian. The stories are Tasmanian. The production and printing was all completed right here in Tasmania. Rare but true.

5. Recycled, uncoated paper?
Indeed. We’ve invested heavily in the quality of the journal. It is printed on 100% recycled, uncoated paper that is Forest Stewardship Council certified.

6. The website only lets me order up to 5 copies. What if I want more?

8. I’m a bookseller, boutique store owner or someone interested in purchasing in bulk. Can I purchase the journal at wholesale rates?
Pre-sale orders via this website are open from November 6 – November 19. Once this pre-sale period closes we will assess if we are in a position to offer copies at wholesale rates. In the meantime, please email Amanda via amanda@thetasmaniantuxedo.com and she will note your interest and keep you in the loop.

9. Who is the publisher?
